_project Name: The Blade Commercial Tower

_location: Dubai, UAE

_brief: A sleak, streamlined commercial tower in keeping with the design of surrounding buildings.

_considerations: Ecological awareness and reduced running costs.

_response: This 50 storey tower was designed with an exterior glass screen that creates a solar chimney, sucking hot air away from the building and reducing the cooling load of the building by 40%. The striking difference in elevations proved highly popular with the client. Completion scheduled for 2012.
